Mark was diagnosed at 40 years of age with ADHD and Dyslexia and suffered, without knowing, of postnatal depression and PTSD.
Mark is founder of International Fathers Mental Health Day and the #HowAreYouDad campaign, to ensure all parents are able to receive support. He speaks about the importance of fathers’ and mens’ mental health, due to the biggest killer in men under 50 being suicide. He has been a voluntary youth worker since 2007 and believes that early prevention not only saves money but most importantly, saves lives.
Mark has spoken on television and radio stations around the world, and works with Dr Jane Hanley, with whom he has published articles on Fathers Mental Health with. Mark was awarded Inspirational father of the year and local hero at the Pride of Britain Awards in 2012 and was invited to meet The Royal Family on World Mental Health Day in 2016.
