Head Teacher and MHFA Youth Instructor.
With over 25 years’ experience of working in education, Colin has taught and led schools in a range of settings; from the inner city through to rural schools. Each one has provided him with a unique experience, from the rewards and challenges of inner city teaching in Greenwich and Westminster, to being a school leader in a contrasting locality – a small, village school in Buckinghamshire. Colin is currently Head Teacher at a primary school in Hillingdon, where he has led the school from Requires Improvement to Good.
Working with Educational Psychologist Jane Hayward, Colin has developed ‘Moments of Triumph’: a developmental programme which celebrates and instils positive character traits such as resilience, empathy and mood regulation.
Passionate about developing the whole child (the emotional and rational mind), he trained as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and can deliver the two day ‘First Aider’ and one day ‘Champion’ courses. Over the past twelve months Colin has delivered training to professionals in the education and health care sectors – whilst also coordinating a wellbeing conference, which empowered schools to nominate a wellbeing Champion. His experience in education can bring a unique perspective to the challenges faced by many children and young people.
